When you are done with your script, you can render out the finished movie by using one the "Full" render option in the Generate menu (read up on those options here) in the top right corner of the toolbar. This will create a job in the Video Studio backend that renders a high-quality movie from your script. While the movie is rendering the information field to the left in the top bar will state that the movie is being generated.
When the render is done, you will get a notification on your computer that your movie is ready. To get notifications working you will have to approve notifications the first time you get asked about that.
Your movie will then be available on a link below the text ”Latest generated video” to the left in the toolbar or under the menu item ”Generated files.”
Generating a preview of your movie
If you want to create a preview of your movie before going for a final generation you use the "Preview" option in the Generate menu in the toolbar (read up on those options here). This will create a lower resolution and lower frame rate movie of the storyboard in its current state. Using this drastically shortens the render time and for proof versions – or to just see how something you did turn out – it's good practice to use the "Preview" function instead of a "Full".
The preview movies also get an information pre-roll automatically inserted that tells the name of the storyboard and the time of the preview render. This is good information when keeping track of changes. This information pre-roll will also be visible as the thumbnail in the Asset Browser making it very easy to distinguish from the high-resolution movies.
A preview movie also has a significantly smaller file size, so it is more suited to email someone for proofing.
Generate a split version of your movie
You can also generate a "Split", which outputs every slide as a separate video file, suitable for story formats on social platforms, you can head on over to this article to read all about how to handle that.
Downloading or publishing a generated movie
Generated assets can either be found under the ”Latest generated video” in the toolbar or under the ”Generated Files” button in the toolbar. When accessing a generated file the details view of the asset browser will open and from there you can access the video directly.
You can download your video in the format MP4.
