If you have an image that is unsupported, not jpg or png, it's easy to convert it to a functioning format on both a Windows and a Mac computer. You already have the necessary tools installed on your computer.
Convert an image into jpg or png on Windows
- Open the application "Paint" (installed with Windows) on your computer. (Type “paint“ in the search box on the taskbar right to the classic Start menu.)
- Click "File > Open" and locate the file on your hard drive.
- When the image has opened, click "File > Save as" and change the format to jpg or png from the format panel to the right with "PNG picture" or "JPEG picture".
- Done. Your new file is ready to use.
Convert an image to jpg or png on macOS
- Right-click the image in Finder and open it in "Preview." Or open "Preview" and open the file from the file menu.
- Choose "File > Export" and choose JPEG or PNG from the format picker and click "Save."
- Done. Your new file is ready to use.
Storykit accepts jpg and png images for use as a background or inline asset. Jpg images work great for all kinds of "normal" photos, and png images are good when you want to have images with transparency, that some parts of the image are transparent. This will be of use in some inline asset cases in the Storyboard editor and also for logos.
