The ”Image Display” is more or less what the name states, it’s a way to show off a whole image, which we try to accomplish regardless of aspect ratio. So, when you have images that are a major part of the narrative for your video, this could range from a range of images of a product to editorial images showing, there are a lot of use cases.
”Image Display” is constructed with a simple option that lets you create an array of images after each other without the animation feeling repetitive, more on that under background asset behavior.
The Image Display is great for showing off the whole of an image. The direction of the pan is user changeable.
Behavior and usage
The caption is the main text field on the ”Image Display” slide, and it uses a small text on a solid background plate that has the primary color from the theme settings and the text itself uses the color defined under color on primary.
This text box will animate in and out over the span of the slide and is placed in the lower right corner.
Credit text is derived from the credit field in the asset browser. Since all assets in Story Engine are their own instance you could use the credit field for additional information as well, such as a source reference or other. This field is not directly editable from the storyboard view, instead you access it through the asset browser’s detail view. You can turn off the credit text altogether from the storyboard side pane if you wish.
