The "Testimonial Slide" is purpose-built for what the box says – displaying a testimonial. But since a testimonial is just a quote, it can be used as an alternative Quote slide when building regular stories. This slide type also has a built-in rating function that can enhance a testimonial, though.
Behavior and usage
It's relatively straightforward using this slide type. There is a Message field for the quote, and this has five different size options to use that hold different text amounts.
- Huge: 40 characters
- XLarge: 70 characters
- Large (Default): 100 characters
- Medium: 180 characters
- Small: 360 characters
Message (Large) is the master size and functions a bit different. Whenever there is text in this input field, that is the text being used on the slide. To activate one of the other ones, the Large field must be empty.
The Name and Title fields hold 50 characters each and are used for attribution of the quote.
You can control the general animation in and out behavior with the Animation Control if you want to chain slides and change the background asset – or just run hard cuts instead of animations.
You control the text position horizontally and vertically with the Text X-Position and Text Y-Position controls.
The "Quote sign" checkbox determines if you display the quote sign on the slide, and the "Avatar" slide displays a general avatar (that you can control the color of) if you don't have an Avatar Asset uploaded. This can come in handy if you want to communicate that a person is saying this, but you don't have an image.
With "Avatar Asset," you upload an inline asset that will display next to the Name and Title fields, so use this for a headshot of the person in question.
The Rating control switches on or off the rating module that lets you input a star grade (0-5 in 0,1 increment) to display next to the testimonial.
All colors can be changed under Color in the side panel.
