The Dualtext slide type holds two text fields with "Dynamic timing," which does a "content aware" animation timing to allow the viewer to read the first text before the other is animated. This feature allows using two texts on the same slide while keeping a correct "read order."
The Upper text will often act as a "label" or a "question" or something that you want to be read before the second (Lower) text animates in.
Basic usage
The Dualtext slide has two text fields, Upper and Lower. Both can be set to Large (100 characters), Medium (120 characters), or Small (150 characters). Large is the default size. The Lower text is the default. When changing slide type, the text from one default text field will be carried over to another.
Fine Print: You also have the option to add a "Fine Print" (300 characters) at the bottom of the slide. The text size is Tiny but can be scaled between 10-100%. The placement of the Fine Print will adapt to the placement of the logo (if the logo is at the bottom of the slide, the Fine Print will move to the top of the slide). Text Alignment - Left, Center, Right.
Slide Settings
Slide Position in Sequence:
The slide has Standalone, Start, Middle, and End behavior, making it really easy to use for sequences.
Standalone: The texts are animating in and out using the "dynamic timing".
Start: The Upper text is static over multiple slides and uses the "dynamic timing"
Middle: The Upper text is static over multiple slides but does not use the "dynamic timing".
End: The Upper text is static over multiple slides but does not use the "dynamic timing".
The animation settings for the Start, Middle, and End behaviors, allows for easy chaining of slides.
Text Alignment
You can change the alignment of the texts independently for different use cases. The alignment controls under the basic settings, control the alignment within the content area; the content area position is controlled by the "Content X-position" and "Content Y-position" controls. This means you can move the texts wherever you want on the canvas and set the text-alignment independent from the position.
Upper alignment: Align the text field to the left, center, or right. The text justification will follow the alignment.
Lower alignment: Align the text field to the left, center, or right. The text justification will follow the alignment.
Advanced Settings
When you engage the "Advanced Settings" toggle, you override all the settings except the alignment settings. You must check the animation settings to mimic the Start/Middle/End behavior.
Upper Animation: This is where you choose if the Upper text field animates in and/or out. Using these controls allows you to chain slides with the same text content.
Lower Animation: This is where you choose if the Lower text field animates in and/or out. Using these controls allows you to chain slides with the same text content.
Animation type: Choose between Dynamic Timing and Simultaneous for the in-animation.
Content Position:
Content X-position: left, center, right.
Content Y-position: top, center, bottom, and Fixed Y.
Fixed Y-position: You can also input a fixed Y-position if you want to precisely place the text, which is useful when repeating slides. You do this by choosing "Fixed Y" in "Content Y-position" and then adding a value in "Fixed Y-position" (0 = at the top).
Color Settings
The color settings let you adjust the color of the Upper Text, Lower Text, and Fine Print. You can also adjust the Opacity of the Fine Print.
