The music available in Storykit is either from YouTube’s royalty-free library or from Storyblocs music library if you are subscribing to the Storykit premium music add-on. In both cases, this means you have full access to these songs.
Why does this message appear?
Unfortunately, all music rights can pretty easily be challenged online, which is frequently done by malicious actors to claim IP that is not theirs as a fraudulent business model.
YouTube might believe the “claimer”, block your video, and send you a message about it. In this case, you can always “claim your right” since you have used a song to which you have the right through your agreement with Storykit and Storykit’s agreement with Storyblocs, or because the song is 100% royalty-free and open for anyone to use.
Claiming your right might take a while. If you think the wait is too long, we suggest you choose another song or just publish without sound.
With YouTube, if you have the Storykit premium music add-on, the process to claim your rights follows the following procedure:
Please send the information below, and Storyblocs can further assist from there:
- A link to the YouTube Video
- Their YouTube Channel ID
- The name of the claimant on the video
- Send the information to Christina at Storyblocks on christina.baddar@storyblocks.com.
